PATRICIA ADAMS
Chairwoman of the Board
Patricia Adams has been with the Renaissance City Chargers since the inaugural season of 2013. A co-founder of the organization, Mrs. Adams came in as the Chief Operating Officer providing leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the organization had proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems in place to stimulate growth, financial strength, and operational efficiency. Madame Chair is an HBCU Alumna and proud Pirate holding both and Bachelor’s in Business Administration and an MBA from Hampton University. Outside of the Chargers, Madame Adams is a wife, mother, and founder and instructor of “Bang,” a mixed fitness class for HIIT training.
STACEY DEERING
Co-Chair
Stacey Deering is entering her seventh year with the Renaissance City Chargers. A two-time graduate of Eastern Michigan University, she articulated the Mission and Vision of the organization into words as its author. Holding a Master’s of Public Administration, Stacey’s knowledge, experience, and education of nonprofit organizations set the foundation of the team from the outset. An educator and PhD student at Wayne State University, Professor Deering served in the capacity as Chief Development Officer, piloting all fundraising initiatives for “Bolt Nation” (a title which she also created) prior to her appointment to the Board of Directors.
NOELLE CHILDRESS
Chief Financial Officer
Noelle Childress is a founding member of the Renaissance City Chargers and enters her seventh year as a member of the Board of Directors. Originally signing on while finishing her Master’s Sports Administration at Wayne State University in 2013. She oversaw the fiscal health and financial growth prior to appointment to the Board of Directors. Her generosity as the organization’s very first sponsor was instrumental in the Chargers’ inaugural season and her leadership as CFO to create the budgetary practices the team still utilizes today.
GUYE GOODLOW
Chief Executive Officer
Guye Goodlow was born and raised in Detroit. He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools System graduating from Renaissance High School. Upon graduation, he was awarded a football scholarship to Troy State University and transferred to Missouri State University where he also played football and completed his degree in English Literature in 2006. Mr. Goodlow worked as an educator in Detroit for 3 years before starting his career in sales in 2009. While working in sales and marketing for DeVry University, he completed his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing in December 2012. In an effort to augment his leadership and management skills, he started the nonprofit organization and adult amateur football team, the Renaissance City Chargers, where is entering his sixth season as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Goodlow currently works in Marketing Sales & Service at Ford Motor Company, a job he earned at the 2014 NBMBAA Conference in Atlanta. Guye Goodlow resides in Detroit with his wife, Josie, and their children Gisele and Gunnar. In his 7 years with the Renaissance City Chargers, Guye has served in the capacity of CEO, Head Coach, and Defensive Coordinator. His goal is to win championships on the field and to help his players to receive football scholarships, achieve gainful employment, and be productive citizens in their communities.
LINDSEY BIRRELL
Chief of Communication
Lindsey is a current student at Wayne State University. She is studying psychology and criminal justice and will be graduating in May 2019. After graduation, Lindsey plans to pursue social work and intends to work with urban youth providing wrap-around support services.
She has been a fan of the Chargers since 2018 but has just recently taken on the role of chief of communication. Lindsey supports the Chargers mission because she believes everyone deserves a chance and that is what the Charger's provide for their players.
As chief of communication, Lindsey plans to create an overwhelming awareness for the program and to involve the community in the Charger's journey.
OLIVIA LOPEZ
Chief Marketing Officer
Olivia was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She attended Ypsilanti Public Schools and graduated in 2011. Olivia got accepted into Michigan State University where she graduated in May 2018 with a bachelors degree in Advertising Management. She plans to further her education in data science at Eastern Michigan University.
Olivia took over the position of Chief Marketing Officer in 2019. She plans on using her marketing/advertising skills to raise awareness for this wonderful organization along with getting others involved so we can reach our full potential. She’s excited to be a part of this movement to help these athletes obtain the resources and recognition that they deserve! Charge up!
